Three-time Super Bowl winner Mahomes briefly met with Messi ahead of the Argentine’s latest outing, while also catching up with Benjamin Cremaschi, and told the all-time great to “have fun” before a ball was kicked in anger.

Messi did enjoy himself against Sporting KC, with the talismanic World Cup winner helping himself to a stunning goal and an assist as Inter Miami ran out 3-2 winners on the day – with that result taking them back to the top of the Eastern Conference.
