Once close friends, the relationship between David Beckham and Harry and Meghan Markle is said to be “strained” recently. Royal expert Richard Eden believes that the reason comes from the Beckhams’ “favoring” of William and his wife.

David Beckham and Prince William recently attended the launch of the London Air Ambulance Charity’s new helicopters. Prince William, who is the patron of the London Air Ambulance Charity, has launched an Up Against Time appeal to raise funds for two new helicopters for its service. He and David Beckham viewed the new H135 helicopters, which were purchased after the appeal raised an impressive £16 million.

In the fundraising campaign, Omaze alone contributed 4 million pounds (about 120 billion VND) with the support of David Beckham.

Eden said it was no surprise that the Beckhams sided with William and Kate Middleton. David Beckham has always been a supporter of the British Royal Family. The former footballer even “dressed in his best clothes and queued for 12 hours to see the Queen’s coffin when she lay in state at Westminster Abbey.”

“Both David and Victoria value family very much and would never turn their backs on their relatives the way Harry and Meghan did,” said expert Eden.

A source close to Eden revealed: “The truth is Victoria never really liked Meghan. She was friendly and welcoming to Meghan but didn’t want to keep in touch.”

David Beckham was personally invited by Prince William to attend the launch of the London Air Ambulance Charity’s new helicopter. Speaking about the event, the former footballer said: “We are here today to celebrate the success of the fundraiser for London’s air ambulance service, which has been very close to my heart for many years. I am an East London boy, so whenever I see them in the air, I am very proud. As soon as Prince William asked me to participate, I honestly felt very honored.”
