There appears to be an update in the contract negotiation of Brandon Aiyuk, which has been in process for the past several months. Amid the heavy trade rumors, the San Francisco 49ers have offered a mammoth deal to their No. 2

receiver but he still isn’t happy about it.

After the wide receiver market flourished this offseason, receiver Aiyuk has been expecting a record-breaking deal possibly to the standards of the highest-paid non-quarterback Justin Jefferson. And finally, the Niners fulfilled his demands by offering him $28 million per year, as per sources.

The reason this deal has not been made official is because of the guaranteed money, which is yet to be decided. But that’s not the only thing by which the All-Pro receiver is not satisfied.

The Niners are said to sign Aiyuk in a three-year extension with definitely guaranteed money besides the $28 million annually, however, he wants a long-term deal for four years.

Amid the rumors of a deal in place between the 49ers and the Pittsburgh Steelers regarding the Aiyuk trade, NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo confirmed that the Niners have increased their initial offer which was $26 million to $28 million. He reported that Aiyuk is willing to stay with his current team but only after getting paid with the numbers he deserves.

But both sides sent proposals the last couple days, and the 49ers' number has gotten better than what it was previously. From my understanding, they have agreed on a lot of the main points of the deal. Their offers are in line. It sounds like there's just one more thing that needs to be ironed out. And if that thing gets ironed out, Aiyuk signs the deal, he stays with the 49ers, he drops the trade request and finally the 49ers can put this situation behind them.

At present, both the Steelers and 49ers are ready to pay Aiyuk with his desired number and make him one of the highest-paid receivers in the league. In such a case, the decision has now been burdened upon the shoulder of him to decide whether he wants to continue playing in red and white or ready to move on to his next chapter.
