On Friday night Ohtani launched his 13th home run of the season, which ties him for the Major League lead with Houston’s Kyle Tucker. This time Ohtani wasn’t dropping the barrel on a ball middle-in. Instead he took a 95 MPH fastball on the outer half of the plate from Reds starter Frankie Montas with one out and one on in the third inning and tattooed it over the left field fence for just his third opposite field dinger of the season.
Ohtani’s two-run blast put the Dodgers up 3-0 on Cincinnati. Mookie Betts gave Los Angeles an early lead when he parked a solo homer to lead off the bottom of the first.
Shohei Ohtani is outrageous.
