Newey delved into the common point and similarities between Vettel and Verstappen in their respective regulations. According to the Briton, both drivers were very sensitive to the tires. This meant that both of them required the tires to be in the right window and required perfect setup. Apart from this, Newey highlighted the similarity between Mark Webber and him as well. The two were similar in terms of ‘sensibility’ towards aerodynamic changes.

Hence, Newey finally admitted that the challengers were not ‘machine-driven’ and thus required human involvement. As such, it was necessary for Red Bull to understand Max Verstappen or Sergio Perez’s views after a session.

But, the human feedback is vital as the human is the controller, the sensitivity and feeling and ability to express that is key. It is not a machine-driven vehicle.
