Paraguayan international Matias Rojas has signed for Inter Miami on a free transfer following a contract dispute with Corinthians.
Inter Miami have reinforced their squad with the signing of Paraguayan international Matias Roja on a free transfer.
Rojas joined Corinthians last summer, but has not appeared for the club since February 2024 due to a dispute over missed image rights payment. TYC Sports earlier reported that the Brazilian giants were considering terminating his contract.
Rojas’ signing comes as a timely boost for The Herons who recently dealt with a major injury blow after in-form attacker Diego Gomes was ruled out of action due to an ankle injury. The 19-year-old Paraguayan collided with Nashville goalkeeper Elliot Panico in their MLS clash last week and is likely to remain sidelined for at least six weeks.
“We’re pleased to bring in attacking midfielder Matías Rojas. He is a skillful and experienced player at both the club and national team levels whose versatility we believe will be an asset for the team. We think this addition helps strengthen our squad as we aim to compete for titles after a strong start of the MLS season,” said Chief Soccer Officer and Sporting Director Chris Henderson.
Meanwhile, the Paraguayan chimed in, saying: “I’m happy, joining a spectacular Club like Inter Miami is a dream come true. I’m excited to compete and help my teammates achieve the team’s objectives.”
