Brandon Aiyuk contract drama hits tipping point as 49ers’ star posts Commanders mini-camp film

Star receiver Brandon Aiyuk’s contract dissatisfaction may be hitting a boiling point for the San Fransisco 49ers with his latest cryptic TikTok.

Brandon Aiyuk contract drama hits tipping point with Commanders film

Aiyuk, who previously posted a TikTok of him FaceTiming with Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels, this time uploaded an image that he was watching Commanders practice from minicamp this June.

There are certainly questions of how Aiyuk obtained film from another team’s camp, but the disgruntled receiver is seemingly using this film session as a way to drop tea leaves of his frustration.

And he hasn’t been shy about referencing the Commanders and Daniels.

He posted a conversation with Daniels on TikTok in which he said, “They (the 49ers) said they don’t want me back… I swear”

Aiyuk has yet to receive the contract extension he seeks from the 49ers, and is set to play under the final year of his rookie contract worth $14.1 million this season.

Should the 49ers really want to test fate, they could make Aiyuk play on that contract while also franchise-tagging him in 2025, rather than giving him the long-term security he has been craving.

Aiyuk was the No. 2 receiver in the entire NFL last season, according to Pro Football Focus, ranking only behind talented speedster Tyreek Hill.

San Francisco drafted receiver Ricky Pearsall at No. 31 overall in April in what could be viewed as a contingency plan for the team’s offense.

if Aiyuk is trying to force his way to Washington D.C., the 26-year-old wide receiver would be a welcomed addition to the Commanders’ offense, which just added his former college quarterback.

Aiyuk played his senior year catching balls from Daniels, then a freshman, hauling in 65 passes that year for 1,192 yards and eight touchdowns for Arizona State.
