Masters 2024: Final Predictions for Top Prize Money

Scottie Scheffler is 18 holes away from earning his second Masters title in three years.

The top men’s golfer in the world bounce back from a rough few holes on Saturday to claim a one-shot lead over Collin Morikawa.

Scheffler and Morikawa have been two of the most consistent golfers at Augusta National Golf Club this week and they should produce a fantastic showdown for the win and the $3.6 million winning purse.

Max Homa, Ludvig Aberg, Bryson DeChambeau and Nicolai Hojgaard all experienced some troubles on Saturday and that could bleed into the final round.

Consistency will be rewarded and that could lead to someone like Xander Schauffele finishing in the top three.

Scottie Scheffler, Collin Morikawa Duel Until Final Hole

Scheffler and Morikawa should take their duel for the green jacket down to the last hole.

Morikawa played with the steadiest hand of the contenders on Saturday, as he birdied the first three holes and then did not drop below five-under.

The two-time major champion came close to making a few more birdies on the back nine, but most importantly, he did not make any catastrophic mistakes.

Scheffler had a shaky patch on the 10th and 11th holes, where he dropped three shots to the field.

Scheffler rallied with an eagle at No. 13 and two more birdies to close out his round.

The consistency displayed by both players on Saturday should carry over into Sunday to give us one heck of a Masters showdown.

Xander Schauffele Finishes Third

Xander Schauffele played his first bogey-free round at the Masters on Saturday.

He used the round of 70 to move into a tie for sixth five shots back of Scheffler.

Schauffele has the game to catch Scheffler and Morikawa, but that seems unlikely given how well the two leaders played on Saturday.

He can do enough to finish third and come away from Augusta with four rounds of 72 or better.

Schauffele owns 11 top-10 major finishes, so he knows what it takes to end a tournament on the right foot.

He may not win unless mistakes happen from the start in the final group, but he can come away with yet another respectable finish.

Tiger Woods Finishes Dead Last

Tiger Woods struggled mightily during his third round at Augusta.

The 15-time major champion carded an 82 with eight bogeys and two double bogeys.

Woods’ primary Masters goal was to extend his made cut streak to 24, but he gave everything in his body to reach the weekend.

Woods’ body started to break down on Saturday, which means Sunday could be a grind for him just to break 80.

At 11-over, he is three shots ahead of last place for the entire tournament. He will likely flirt with that position if his game on Sunday is as bad as Saturday’s performance.
