Red Bull’s RB20 has been called an aggressive challenger for many reasons. Its vertical radiator inlet creates a large undercut at the front, reducing surface area and evoking the Mercedes 2022 zero-side pod design. The design aims to minimize surface area without compromising efficiency.

The car’s unique aerodynamic philosophy and modern radiator technology allow coolers to be more compressed while maintaining heat-rejecting capacity. After the disappointing Australian GP, Red Bull is planning on launching a zero-side pod design at this week’s event in Suzuka.

However, their ace Max Verstappen has managed to get away without giving much of the details.

Well, I mean the colour will be the same. You will see.

With not much insight, Verstappen has managed to increase the expectations and curiosity of the Red Bull admirers. The Milton-Keynes-based team’s altered side pods design for the upcoming race weekend in all likelihood will be a huge topic of discussion from Friday’s Free Practice 1 onwards.

Max Verstappen is looking forward to the Japanese Grand Prix

The Australian GP was a bit of a letdown for the reigning world champion, Max Verstappen. During the 58-lap Grand Prix, he retired from the race on lap four because of a rear break issue.

However, the incident has not taken away his optimistic outlook ahead of the Suzuka event.

So far good but of course everyone has a bit of different characteristics in their cars as well, you know, so it’s not a given that we will be really, really competitive like last year. But I’m excited, it’s a track that I really enjoy. I know that I’m confident with the car, I feel good.

The 26-year-old has made it known that he is really looking forward to the race in Suzuka. He believes that during the laps that he did in Melbourne, he had a good pace. Max Verstappen is currently leading the 2024 Drivers Championship. However, keeping in view that Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc is only four points behind, the Japanese GP will be a fascinating watch.
