Teofimo Lopez and Terence Crawford are again in the middle of a heated back and forth. The WBO super lightweight champion recently appeared in an interview, where he made some unsavory remarks about Crawford and Gervonta Davis. That has led to their exchange on social media today, where Lopez offered to fight ‘Bud’ for free.

While speaking to Broadway Joel a couple of weeks back, Lopez said, “Whichever monkey wants to get the banana” when asked whether he would want to fight Crawford or Davis first. He added, “They say they are gorillas, I’m a lion—I eat them.” Following this statement, which came off as racist to a lot of people online, Crawford fired back at Lopez.

While appearing in an interview with Bernie The Boxer, Crawford responded to Lopez’s statement, “Teo is like the little kid that’s screaming for attention.” ‘Bud’ continued suggesting that had it been him or ‘Tank’ Davis, who said something like that it would be all over the news with people branding them racist.

“The hatred that’s within always shows. That’s not something that’s just came out, that’s something that’s been inside that man that he was taught as a little kid,” Crawford concluded. Sometime later, Lopez took to X to address the situation, writing, “Boxing is a sport! Please stop trying to make the business more important than us fighting for the best against the best.”

Fast forward to today, Crawford, who was previously signed with Top Rank, where Lopez is at right now, wrote on X, “@TeofimoLopez looks like you the one in a f**ked up situation with TopRank! you want to fight what’s you contracted to fight for?” It’s worth mentioning that Lopez had always expressed intentions to fight Crawford, but since ‘Bud’ has his own ambitions to face Canelo Alvarez at 168-pound, he never really took Lopez’s call-outs seriously.

Responding to Crawford’s question, Lopez took to the same platform. “Laugh now, Cry later. @terencecrawford I’ll fight you for free. Destroying your legacy is worth more than money to me,” Lopez wrote. This exchange aside, the feud between them only seems to be escalating on social media.

Both Crawford and Lopez were in attendance at last month’s Canelo Alvarez vs. Edgar Berlanga fight. The two crossed paths during the event, and their encounter quickly grabbed headlines after security had to step in and separate them. Regardless, following their exchange today, Crawford hopped on X one more time. “I respect all fighters. But @TeofimoLopez only fought 3 fighters worth even talking about and that’s Lomachenko and Ortiz beat him,” Crawford wrote.

It’s worth noting that during Lopez’s fight against Jamaine Ortiz, the consensus was that Ortiz got robbed despite outboxing Lopez. “Taylor lost his fight before Teo and definitely should have moved up to 147 but we all know why he killed his self to make 140,” Crawford added, implying Lopez was avoiding him. Anyway, this prompted yet another response from Lopez, who wrote back, “We either lace up the gloves or SHUT YO H*E A** UP!”
