David is raising eyebrows for making a suspicious payment after his reputation was called into question last year.
The latest transaction made by David Beckham’s company is raising eyebrows as it comes after the startling cheating accusations that resurfaced last year against the soccer player.
According to reports, his company DB Ventures made a $10 million payment to an undisclosed individual. The person is reportedly an employee and the payment falls under salary. No other person at the company is making nearly that kind of money.
The $10 Million Went To An Unidentified Employee
While the company says the cheque was made to one of its directors, it hasn’t disclosed the person’s identity. “I’m afraid we won’t be disclosing who the highest-paid director is,” a spokesperson for Beckham and DB Ventures said.
DB Ventures is a housing estate company, but it’s one of many business ventures Beckham has invested in. Notably, he has established his own brand, “David Beckham,” which includes fragrances, clothing, and other lifestyle products. Additionally, Beckham has been involved in partnerships and endorsements with major brands such as Adidas and H&M.
Furthermore, he is known for his co-ownership of Inter Miami CF, a Major League Soccer team in the United States. Beckham’s business acumen and strategic collaborations have contributed to his status as a successful entrepreneur, expanding his influence far beyond the realm of sports.
David’s Alleged Mistress Has Retreated From The Spotlight Again
However, the athlete’s reputation came under fire last year when past cheating allegations resurfaced after he and wife Victoria revisited the subject in their Beckham Netflix special. The couple denied the allegations in the documentary, as they did when the claims first surfaced two decades ago, brought to the media by David’s former assistant, who claims they had a months-long affair.
David’s denial of the affair in the doc made his alleged mistress, Rebecca Loos, come forward for the first time in years. Speaking to the Daily Mail, she stood by her original claims that David was indeed unfaithful during the early years of his marriage to the former Spice Girl.
“He’s making himself the victim and making me look like the liar. He’s making me look like I’ve made up these horrible stories,” she said. “I’m the one that’s made Victoria suffer. Poor him. He’s had nothing to do with this and it was so awful.”
Loos’ decision to come forward again reportedly put a strain on the Beckham’s marriage, as Victoria worried how the controversy would affect their kids’ outlook on her marriage.
Though Loos has lived much of her life out of the spotlight, she’s retreated once again from the public’s eye following her 2023 Daily Mail interview. It remains to be seen if David’s $10 million payment has anything to do with quelling the attention around the infidelity accusations, or, if not, then where the huge payout actually went to.
Victoria and David married on July 4, 1999, and continue to be one of the longest-lasting couples in Hollywood. The couple has four children together: Brooklyn, born in March 1999, Romeo, born in September 2002, Cruz, born in February 2005, and Harper, born in July 2011.
