Noah Lyles, the U.S. track & field athlete, won gold in the 100m at the Paris Olympics with a personal best time of 9.79. He beat silver medalist Kishane Thompson by just five thousandths of a second in one of the closest finishes to a race, despite having the worst reaction time in the field.
His victory was a testament to his skill and determination, as he overcame a slow start to secure the top spot on the podium. His teammate, Fred Kerley, took bronze with a time of 9.81 ensuring that for the first time since Athens 2004, two Americans had a podium finish.
Lyles’ journey to the top of the podium was not easy, as he faced tough competition in the quarterfinals and semifinals. However, he learned from his experiences and was able to bring his A-game to the final, securing the gold medal with a personal best time.
