APRIL 28 LUKA FEELS … The Mavs lost a heartbreaking Game 4 at home on Sunday in which Kyrie Irving was off the charts …
And in which Luka Doncic came away disappointed.
“I feel,” Luka said, “like I’m letting him down. … I got to help him more.”
This was an incredible comeback attempt from being down 31 points but still resulted in a 116-111 loss in Game 4.
Doncic finished with 29 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists, while Kyrie Irving scored a game-high 40 points to go with seven rebounds and five assists.
Doncic is dealing with right knee soreness and conceded that he is obviously hurting” but added that he does not want to use that as an excuse.
There is a truth beyond the scoring numbers, Dallas is +32 when Luka is on the floor and -32 when he rests.
But … somebody’s got to do something, yes.
APRIL 25 LAKERS NOW FACE ELIMINATION; MAGIC, SIXERS FIGHT BACK During the NBA’s Thursday night action, the Orlando Magic blew out the Cleveland Cavaliers to avoid going down 3-0 in their first-round series, and the Philadelphia 76ers did the same against the New York Knicks.
Meanwhile, it was the same old story for LeBron James and the Los Angeles against the Denver Nuggets. The Lakers showed a lot of fight early, but they were unable to hold off the defending champs and ultimately fell into a 3-0 series hold.
“[The Nuggets] do not have a weakness offensively,” said James, who could potentially be a free agent this summer if he decides he wants to leave the Lakers (stay tuned for more on that coming soon).

APRIL 24 SHORTHANDED HEAT TAKE DOWN CELTICS; THUNDER BLITZ PELICANS: There were only two games on the NBA’s Wednesday night slate, and one of them provided some major excitement. The OKC Thunder blowing out the New Orleans Pelicans was almost expected, but the Jimmy Butler-less Miami Heat taking down the NBA-best Boston Celtics was a sight to behold. The Heat didn’t just win, but they won decidedly enough to force Celtics fans to hit the exits early.

APRIL 22 CAVS, KNICKS & NUGGETS TAKE COMMANDING 2-0 LEADS: Monday night’s NBA slate featured a couple of thrillers, as the New York Knicks erased a five-point deficit in less than 30 seconds to defeat the Philadelphia 76ers and take a 2-0 series lead.
Then, after trailing the Los Angeles Lakers by 20 points in the second half, the Denver Nuggets showed once again why they’re the defending champs. Nikola Jokic led an epic comeback, and Jamal Murray finished it off with a buzzer-beating fadeaway over Anthony Davis to give the Nuggets a 101-99 win and a 2-0 series lead.

Down two with possession, the Pelicans had a chance to win Game 1 in OKC as the No. 8 seed, but CJ McCollum’s leaning 3-pointer at the buzzer missed, and the Thunder squeaked by with a win.
