The 96th Academy Awards ceremony took place in Los Angeles, USA this morning (Hanoi time). In the program, besides Hollywood’s outstanding directors and actors, singer Billie Eilish attracted attention when she set a new record with her victory in the Best Original Song category for her hit What Was I Made For?. She became the youngest person in history to win 2 Oscars at the age of 22.

This record was previously set by actress Luise Rainer in 1938 when she was only 28 years old and has held for the past 86 years. International experts also predict that it will be a long time before anyone can surpass Billie Eilish’s achievement.

Billie Eilish, born in 2001, is a Gen Z singer who rose to global fame at the age of 15. She then caused a stir when she won 5 Grammy Awards in 2020, tying the record with singer Ray Charles. She is also the youngest artist in history to win all 4 main categories of this prestigious award: Best New Artist, Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Album of the Year.

After those incredible successes, Billie Eilish entered the film industry as a film soundtrack producer and immediately made a splash. In 2021, the hit No Time To Die written for the James Bond film of the same name also helped her win the Best Original Song category at the 93rd Academy Awards.
